Opportunities for self-employed paid work with the Shared Lives Scheme
Are you passionate about supporting people to reach their full potential?
Are you prepared to share your home and life with someone who has support needs?
The Kirklees Shared Lives Scheme is looking to recruit more people across the district to become Shared Lives Carers. Shared Lives is a community based service that matches adults with support needs to Shared Lives Carers who provide help and accommodation. In return, Shared Lives Carers receive a regular payment and assistance from the Shared Lives Scheme to ensure that the match is maintained.
We are looking for people who can offer anything from some daytime support to planned short breaks on a regular basis to full time arrangements.
You would be self-employed, and the Council would have a contract with you to provide support.
You will need a spare room if you want to have people to stay overnight with you.
Everyone has a full assessment and must agree to have an enhanced DBS check.
