Ethos Academy Trust formed in September 2018, bringing together three high performing Alternative Provision Academies, an Outreach Service and a Medical Provision. We aim to deliver the very best educational experiences for pupils from across the primary and secondary age range. We seek to develop academies and services that are welcoming, caring, calm, safe and purposeful and that, within a nurturing ethos, stretch our learners academically, support them pastorally and develop them socially and emotionally.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic hard-working Inclusion Worker to be based initially at Ethos College to help continue to develop our provision. The successful applicant will have a proven track record of successfully engaging vulnerable children and their families and the ability to work imaginatively with parents/carers, teaching/support staff in schools and colleagues in other agencies and provisions.

The role will involve supporting the development of learners’ essential skills and emotional resilience in a stimulating and supportive environment. The successful candidate will work in line with the SEN Code of Practice and have the ability to motivate and inspire young people experiencing social, emotional and mental or physical health difficulties. The role will mainly involve assisting the delivery of lessons to students with social, emotional and mental health needs in a group basis. There will also be the requirement to support pupils 1:1 in alternative settings to re-focus on learning and engagement.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All staff are subject to an enhanced DBS check. A conviction may not exclude candidates from appointment but will be considered as part of the recruitment process. A full driving licence is essential for this role.

If you require further information about the role or an informal chat, please contact Diane Dunn, Inclusion Manager/DSL on 01924 469170 or you can visit the website: http://www.eat.uk.com

We welcome visits from potential candidates before applying. Please contact Diane Dunn to arrange this.

Applications can be sent electronically to the following email address: ethosoffice@eat.uk.com

Closing date is 12 noon 20 September 2019.

Interviews will be held at Ethos College, week commencing 23 September 2019.

Ethos Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All posts are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check for Regulated Activity. Proof of eligibility to work in the UK will be required.

Ethos Academy Trust is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.

Statement of Intent

All Academies across the Trust adopt a consistent and rigorous approach in the recruitment and selection processes, with the aim of ensuring that those recruited are suitable for such an important and responsible role.  The intention is to ensure that all stages of the recruitment process contain measures to deter, identify, prevent and reject unsuitable people from gaining access to pupils within the organisation. The recruitment and selection processes also aim to meet all legislative requirements, any statutory or other guidance that may from time to time be issued in order to keep children safe and safer recruitment in education, as well as principles of general good practice.
