Medical Advisory Officer

Could you be part of a team that helps people to move to more suitable accommodation on the grounds of disability and/health needs? If so, you may be the person we are looking for. We are looking to recruit to the above position on a full time basis.

Do you understand how unsuitable housing affects disabled people or people with health problems?

You will have an understanding of medical conditions and practice and the impact these may have on a person’s housing needs by awarding medical priority to applicants on the Kirklees Housing Register and making recommendations in relation to the type of property that they need. This would involve working with colleagues and partners in Health, Adult and Children Services, Homes and Neighbourhoods and Registered Providers.  You will also have the opportunity to contribute to housing/health related projects. 

This is an opportunity for people with experience of assessing and evaluating people’s health or disability needs in Health/Social Care to obtain experience of working within a Housing/Adaptations Service.

You must have a full driving licence and a car available for work.
