Thank you for taking the time to consider applying for the Interim Federation Headship of Scapegoat Hill J&I School and Linthwaite Clough JI&EY School (SLCF).

The interim post is over two days, as part of a job share opportunity, in the first instance over the Spring Term 2024 but this may be extended to the Summer Term.

As Chair of the Governing Body I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little bit about the history and flavour of our Federation.

The Federation of SLCF commenced on the 1st September 2015 and since then we have risen to the challenges through collegiate, evidence-based practice.  Our vision is to be a community of confident, creative learners, thriving in a rich, inclusive environment that raises the aspirations of each unique child.

The two sites are situated 3.5 miles apart, but both reside in the Colne Valley area of Huddersfield.

Scapegoat Hill School J&I is a small village school with 84 children on roll and includes attractive grounds and surroundings for outdoor learning and creativity, with wellington boots and a warm coat being an essential part of the children’s attire!

Linthwaite Clough School J I & EY has 277 children on roll with 269 of these being full time. The school provides a very vibrant and creative environment, with one of our learning models being Confident Creative Learning (CCL) where the children take control of their learning; based on early years practice and characteristics of effective learning.

To help you in driving this Federation forward you will have the support of:

  • An experienced leadership team which covers the whole of the Federation
  • Parents and the community who support the Federation whole heartedly
  • The children who have a voice, who are not afraid to question and who are engaged in developing their talent in order to be the best they can be.

I hope I have given you a small overview of the Federation. We have every confidence that we will successfully recruit an Interim Federation Head who will embrace our child centred vision and lead the drive to provide the best possible educational provision for the children.
