Established in 2016 this multi-agency task force at West Yorkshire Trading Standards undertakes complex criminal investigations, safeguarding victims and vulnerable adults in the community and also undertakes confiscation cases to remove assets from offenders and compensate victims. The types of cases WYFEAT investigate include scams, fraud, doorstep crime, and other financial abuse by family, friends, carers etc.
Alongside investigating criminality, the successful candidates will work with other key agencies including the Police and social workers to ensure that appropriate safeguarding measures are in place, whilst also liaising with victims of financial abuse to prevent further exploitation.
