We’re Kirklees…Are you?

We want Kirklees to be a place which combines a strong and sustainable economy with a great quality of life; a place with thriving communities, growing businesses, high prosperity, low inequality and where people enjoy better health throughout their lives.

The Kirklees economy is worth over £6bn, and as part of the Leeds City Region we are within the largest economy outside of London and the South East. We are also well placed at the heart of the Northern Powerhouse with easy access to South Yorkshire and Greater Manchester, excellent transport links via the M1 and M62, and fabulous countryside and strong heritage.

With our Local Plan agreed and our ambitious Huddersfield Blueprint- a ten-year £250million vision to create a thriving, modern-day town centre announced there has never been a better time to join us and help seize the opportunities ahead.

As Head of Business Investment and Skills you will be responsible for leading on business engagement, skills, and inward investment. You will play a key role in the LEP and city region, and together with the Service Director for Economy and Skills help drive growth in Kirklees.

Your senior experience and successful track record of delivery with relevant professional experience will be key to your success. Just as important will be your values, attitude and approach, and the ability to work collaboratively with politicians, colleagues, partners and local businesses to ensure that our residents receive the best possible life chances and excellent services.

For further information about the job please contact Angela Blake, Service Director for Economy and Skills on angela.blake@kirklees.gov.uk
