Transport Services are responsible for purchasing and maintaining the Council’s fleet of around 900 vehicles. Vehicles are maintained to the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) approved standards, which includes MOT testing and taxi licence testing.
You will work as a Heavy Vehicle Maintenance Technician Apprentice. You will be required to complete a 3 year training programme that will cover all aspects of the role and delivered through attendance at college or other distance learning methods.
You will complete a Heavy Vehicle Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship and you will gain a level 3 qualification.
College attendance and successful completion of these studies is an essential requirement of this Apprenticeship.
You will work alongside experienced technicians and specialists to learn modern techniques of vehicle maintenance, working on a wide range of vehicles and workshop practices.
