An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced Infection Prevention and Control Nurse/Practitioner’s to work within the community, providing Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) services for Kirklees Council. You will be joining a supportive and proactive team, who value the contributions of each team member to help and ensure that IPC standards are embedded within all community health and social organisations.

We are looking for a qualified/registered Nurse or Health Care Professional who is an experienced in IPC Nurse/Practitioner to join our team. The candidate will be, passionate about IPC and support the delivery of safe and effective clinical care, whilst contributing to reducing the risks of healthcare associated infections.

You will have an active role in all aspects of IPC throughout the population of Kirklees. The roles will include recording, analysis, correlation and reporting of information from the laboratories. The jobholders will work within a locality area to conduct, support and collate audits of IPC practice and surveillance of incidences of infection. The roles includes responsibility for working collaboratively with a range of health and social care providers to ensure high quality care across a number of sectors. Excellent organisational skills are required to lead the delivery of education and training, audits, surveillance and to support primary and community care colleagues in the IPC agenda.

It is essential that you have relevant experience and a qualification in IPC or the desire to develop to this level, and be able to work both autonomously and as team member. We will consider a development role for those applicants with the right clinical background, experience and desire that may not currently hold an IPC qualification.

Travel is an essential part of this job and therefore it would be extremely difficult for you to do your job effectively if you did not use a car for all or most of the time.  It is essential that you hold a full and valid driving licence and it is expected that you will either use a council vehicle or your own car.
